How the Job interview scenario works
- Open bule.ai in your browser or the Android app and choose the Job interview scenario.
- Tell Bule the job you want, for example "a front office job at a hotel" or "a junior developer role".
- Bule asks questions about your experience. Answer out loud, like in a real interview.
- Ask Bule to repeat a question, or to ask you a harder one. Practice the same interview again tomorrow.
Common English interview questions to practice
- Tell me about yourself.
- Why do you want this job?
- What are your strengths? What is one weakness?
- Tell me about a time you solved a problem at work or school.
- Tell me about a time you worked in a team.
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
- Do you have any questions for us?
A simple way to answer: the STAR method
For questions that start with "Tell me about a time...", use four steps. They keep your answer clear and stop you from talking too long.
- Situation: where and when it happened, in one sentence.
- Task: what you needed to do.
- Action: what you did. Say "I", not "we".
- Result: what happened, with a number if you can.
"Tell me about yourself" in four sentences
Keep it short and about work. One easy pattern: who you are now, one thing you did well, what you learned, and why you want this job. For example: "I am a recent graduate in accounting. During my internship I helped close the monthly accounts two days earlier. I learned to work carefully with deadlines. Now I want to grow in a team like yours."
Tips for speaking in an English interview
- Speak a little slower than normal. Clear is better than fast.
- It is fine to pause: "That is a good question. Let me think."
- If you do not understand, ask: "Sorry, could you say that again?"
- Practice your first answer the most. A good start makes you calm.
