This page explains how to delete your bule.ai account and the data connected to it. It applies to the bule.ai Android and iPhone apps, the web app at app.bule.ai, and any other bule.ai app — they all share one account. bule.ai is operated by Iridian Labs, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company.
Have a subscription? Cancel it first. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought in Google Play or the Apple App Store — it belongs to your Google or Apple account, and we cannot cancel it for you. If you delete your account without cancelling, the store keeps charging you. A subscription bought on the web (app.bule.ai) is different: we cancel it for you when you delete your account, and it is not charged again.
- Android (Google Play): open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, choose bule.ai and tap Cancel subscription, or go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
- iPhone or iPad (App Store): open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → bule.ai → Cancel Subscription, or go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
- Web (app.bule.ai): open Profile → Manage subscription and cancel there, or go to app.link.com and cancel bule.ai under your subscriptions.
Delete it in the app
This is the fastest way, and it happens at once.
- Open the bule.ai app (or app.bule.ai) and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete my account.
Delete it by email, without the app
If you cannot sign in or no longer have the app, email [email protected] from the email address you signed in with, with the subject Delete my account. We may ask you to confirm the request from that address so nobody can delete an account that is not theirs. We delete the account within 30 days of confirming, and usually much sooner, and we reply when it is done.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, all of the following is permanently deleted straight away. It cannot be recovered.
- Your account and the email address you signed in with.
- Every conversation: the text transcripts, their summaries, recaps and statistics.
- What the tutor remembers about you (your memory).
- Your profile answers: the name you gave, native language, English level, goal, how you heard about us, and the country recorded when you signed up.
- Your progress: words you used, grammar you practised, practice-game results.
- Our record of your subscription status.
Your voice and camera are never recorded, so there is no audio or video to delete.
What is kept, and for how long
- A record that an account was deleted: a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of the account's internal ID, the date, and whether it had a subscription running at the time. It contains no email, name or conversation. We keep it for 2 years so we can answer questions about a subscription that kept running after the account was deleted, then delete it.
- Purchase records held by the store you bought from (Google Play, the Apple App Store, or Stripe and Link on the web) and by RevenueCat (which manages subscriptions for us) are kept by them as tax and accounting law requires, and are governed by their own privacy policies.
- Server and error logs, which may include your account ID or email, expire on their providers' standard schedules, within 90 days.
- Database backups may hold a copy of your data until they are rotated out, within 30 days. Backups are never used to restore a deleted account.
Deleting only some of your data
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove part of it. On the Profile tab you can delete any single thing the tutor remembers about you, and change your profile answers with Update answers. For anything else — for example, deleting your conversation history but keeping your account — email [email protected].
